Valuation of titanium sheet residues for the manufacture of titanium powder through atomization. The VARTIP project values titanium sheet waste with the aim of manufacturing high added value titanium powder and thus promoting its subsequent commercialization. In this sense, VARTIP develops a new centrifugal atomization technology for high melting point materials,which will allow the manufacture of highly spherical powders, an essential feature that must meet this type of powders in the vast majority of applications. The recovery process consists of a direct transformation of the sheet metal powder remains through atomization, without intermediate stages and making it an energy efficient and economically advantageous process.
